Here is the mystery song for the week of January 26, 2015:

 

The site is awarding a half-point for the name of the song and a half point for the band that sang it.

 

 Update, Jan. 26: The answer was “Love in Vain,” which was written by Robert Johnson and covered by The Rolling Stones. Here is more on Johnson.

Update, Jan. 19: The answer was “Splish Splash” by Bobby Darin. Here is more on the singer, who died far too young.

Update, Jan. 12: The answer was “Sweet and Dandy” by Toots and the Maytals. It’s from the soundtrack of “The Harder They Come,” one of the great music films. Check out more on Toots.
