Check It Out: Blitzen Trapper’s “Shine On”

Blitzen Trapper, a band from Portland, OR, has been around since 2000. The high point was a two page feature in Rolling Stone in 2008. The band seems to be on semi-hiatus, with only a handful of shows scheduled this year.

“Shine On” is from “VII” which, believe it or not, is the band’s seventh album. This is a catchy tune, and the guitarists are very talented.  Bitzen Trapper also released a version of the song with commentary. The two folks offering insight are Eric Early and Liz Vice. Vice actually was a guest vocalist on the song.
