Happy Not Birthday, Booker T. Jones

The Daily Music Break takes every opportunity to send out birthday greetings to musicians of note. I wanted to do that today and found that I Booker T. Jones — from Booker T. and the MGs — was born on this day in 1944.

Something went wrong, however. Jones was born on November 12. Either the website or I mess up. It probably was me.

However, before I realized the mistake, I found this great version of the title song from the Clint Eastwood spaghetti western “Hang ‘Em High,” which was written by Dominic Frontiere. My inability to read a date is no reason not to use it.

The best known song by Booker T and the MGs is “Green Onions,” which The Daily Music Break has featured previously. Here is more on Booker T.
